Set up

By maclover

Not many people who have not seen it personally know a lot about my setup, so I wanted to share it with the rest of the world (and I just needed a good reason to post :) ).

If you’re reading this, you probably know that I don’t have a mac. I got a Windows box  a couple of years ago and oddly enough within a few months I really didn’t like windows. It’s a Dell Dim. 4600, 2.66 ghz (which I wanted to overclock even though I can’t…), 1.25 megs of RAM, and 200 gigs of HDD space, both of those quintupled from my original amounts.

My parents brought in a computer–used– to replace their now old computer, but it was not an improvement so we had a computer and a spare monitor just collecting dust. I wanted to buy a new monitor, as a CRT is a bit clunky, but figured that I would just use the monitor and have a dual display setup; I got an adapter for the DVI slot and it’s just so awesome.

I’m thinking of setting up a cluster with some old computers at the moment–nothing official. But I am almost positive that I will put Ubuntu on the old computer.

Well there you have it; don’t have a camera to post pictures though.

Yes, it is. Only 2 or so years old.

    I hope you mean 1.25 gigs…

It’s a nice computer though…I wish I had the HDD. I do *not* have enough space on my computer.
