I thought today, after seeing the news that it has been released, that I would download the live CD. Got it downloaded, burned it, but it didn’t boot right. I think it was Nautilus or something that wouldn’t boot. Oh well, I’ll wait for the full release
Anyways, I thought the new graphical splash screen thingy is much better. Not much of a hassle, just a few clicks and go.
One of the new features on the live CD that I’m looking forward to is the persistence thing. If installing it on my computer doesn’t work correctly like it did with 5.10, then this will be a really helpful feature.
I’m still up in limbo with the new theme. I think it looks nicer than the old human theme, but I want to see it a lot and not just in screenshots. Reminds me a bit of one of the old Longhorn themes; I forget the build number.
The new icons are plain beautiful.
I didn’t get to test out any of the other stuff because of the boot errors, but if it’s a problem with the CD I’ll just burn another one and update.

Well, Gnome looks alot better than it used to, that’s for sure. And Ubuntu’s really come a long way. Hope the whole linux thing works out.
